Amboyna Burl Gun Pens

Description

Amboyna Burl is technically not a species of wood but instead burl wood from any of the Pterocarpus species. The particular type of amboyna burl wood that I am using for these pens are from a wood species called Burma Padauk (Pterocarpus macrocarpus). The name comes from Ambon Island in Indonesia, which is where my wood source for these pens is located.

Bolt Action Pens (classic style):

Bolt Action Pens get their name from the unique mechanism that extends and retracts the refill, much like the action of a rifle bolt. The pen’s clip is modeled to look like a bolt action rifle. The pen’s tip is modeled after a 30mm cartridge.

Bolt Action Pens (with American Flag design):

This is a patriotic version of the classic Bolt Action pen. The only difference is that the pen has an American flag design, incorporated throughout the pen. On the top of the pen, above the clip, the words “LAND OF THE FREE” are written

Revolver Pens:

Revolver pens, like bolt action pens mimic certain aspects of a gun:

• Bullet-Shaped Tip: Just like the bolt action pens, the tip of the pen is designed to resemble a bullet, however this time, the bullet is for a revolver.
• Revolver Grip: The grip is shaped similar to a revolver’s grip.
• Spinning Cylinder Center: The pen’s center looks like a revolver’s cylinder and spins when the pen is clicked.
• Clip as the Trigger: The clip serves as the trigger, which is pressed to retract the refill.
• Handcrafted Wooden Barrel: The body of the pen, or “barrel” makes each pen unique.
